Centro Ceremonial
Parque del Recuerdo

This project was imagined as a new way of understanding the funeral ritual. Thus, our proposal reflects on the cycles of life: birth, death and transformation. Translating these concepts, we present an evolution of traditional funerary architecture, towards an architecture that values memory and the landscape. Our Park of Remembrance Ceremonial Center project was selected among the three finalists in the category of Best Landscape Architecture Project 2021 of the Trezzini Awards. Those who seek to reward Architecture and Design projects created from the artistic proposal. This recognition is supported by Richard Armstrong, Director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation.

Memorial Parque del Recuerdo

2016

The project program materializes the physical and energetic dimension of the human body, with the "columbarium walls" representing the first, while the park represents the second dimension. The volumes are arranged loosely in the landscape, with the idea of generating a walk that invites consolation, memory and reflection. Thus, the architectural proposal understands death and the farewell rite of the inert body as a natural, loving and sustainable process. The body that is no longer inhabited by the soul is transformed into a "seed body" that is reborn in the trees that make up the park.
