Casa Ye
The architectural response is the creation of three volumes in the layout of the letter Y, articulated by the access and that resolves the needs and characteristics of the order. Here the gesture is born from the sound of a letter, in this case the letter Y (Ye). "Sound, Word, Name" becomes a methodological exercise that begins the initial architectural process of Cazú Zegers by opening up to the gesture, figure and form of her project. The Ye House is part of a series of projects where the word is the first material of architecture. What's more, sound as a first matter has the capacity to unfold in space. This was the case for the Ye House where its consonant was made into a volumetric form to inhabit the territory and at the same time be a "habitable" letter.

Sound Word Name
Methodological exercise that begins the initial architectural process of Cazú Zegers by opening to the gesture, figure and form of her project. Similar to the figure-form gesture methodology, this sound process helps to begin an exploration and search for the architectural material. "Bringing the intangible to the tangible. The sound of a letter, such as K, T and Y, unfold in space and come to life as tactile and sensory habitats." (Zegers, 2022)
